Prompt: In Chapter 5 of Into the Wild, McCandless is strongly influenced by writers like Jack London, whose stories shape the way he thinks about adventure and wilderness. Has a book, song, musician, or artist ever influenced the way you think about life, goals, or the world around you? Identify the specific book, song, musician, or artist and explain how their ideas or message affected your thinking.

Prompt Response: The art piece Guernica has shaped by view about the world. Guernica is a painting by Pablo Picasso and was made in response to the bombings of the town of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. It depicts the suffering of civilians during the bombings. It showed me that the world is not perfect and that there is still a lot of things that happen. The bombings in Iran have killed many innocent people and shows that people are still suffering in other parts of the world.

Summary: In class we read chapter 5 and answered some questions about the chapter.

Reflection: I am liking into the wild so far and find McCandless's journey interesting.
