After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response: When I was younger, around nine years old, I was at my cousin's house along with my brother. The neighborhood had a little playground in the middle and we all went there because my aunt made us go outside. My cousin's dog got out from the backyard and started sprinting toward me which was horrifying, but it got me and starting biting on my arm. I had to focus on keeping the dog away from my face and tried not to agitate it. It went on for around a minute or two but eventually his parents came outside and helped me. I only ended up with a little scar on my arm, but if I tried to fight it and agitated it, I feel like it would have turned out worse.

Summary: In class we read the poem Birches by Robert Frost.

Reflection: Life really can change in an instant which is kind of worrying to think about.
