In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response: Imagination just helps me distract myself from my current situation. If I'm bored then imagination helps me cure that boredom and pass the time. If I'm stressed then imagination will be there to have something to think about and lower my stress. If there's something challenging then imagination can help me calm down and get myself together. Imagination is really helpful in my day to day life and I don't see that changing.

Summary: We read the poem "Birches" by Robert Frost then began our childhood PowerPoint.

Reflection: When I was younger, I always wanted to be older because I felt that being young was the worst. However, I feel that when I'm older, I'm going to wish that I was younger.
