You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

 Prompt response: The class has been going smoothly for me so far. I have been able to keep up with my work and also with my daily blog posts. I have been able to keep my grade up and will work to keep it that way. I am still working on being organized and keeping things in order with every class. However, I am sure that I will be able to keep up with this class as the school year goes on. I do not have any issues with this class. 

Summary: Today we analyzed three poems by Emily Dickson and began our assignment of connecting songs to those poems.

Reflection: "Because I could not Stop for Death" has shown me that death is inevitable but is something that should not be feared as that could hinder someone's ability to enjoy life.

 Prompt Response: When I was a child, I went to a grocery store with my mom to get groceries for the week. After a while, I had wandered off as any child would and soon after I had realized, that I had lost my mom. It was a scary experience because there were a lot of people there and as an unsupervised kid, I did not feel safe. I ran through the aisles one by one, in hopes of finding my mom. The store felt like a maze, turns everywhere and every turn made me more lost. As my hope dwindled and I believed my mother had left, I make my way to the checkout area, and I see her. Relief ran through my body as I was able to find my mom and I rushed over to her and gave her a hug. Summary: Today in class we presented our powerpoints for "The Jealous Father." Reflection: The powerpoints informed me on many things such as the theme of "The Jealous Father" and also showed me what can be improved on future powerpoints.

Prompt: Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

 Prompt Response: My most unforgettable meal was the time I got McDonalds and the patty was raw. It was late afternoon and I went with my dad to get McDonalds for my family. When I arrived home and began to eat my quarter pounder, I realized something. I was two bites in and I realized the patty was really pink and that the burger was raw. I threw it away and just ate the fries; however I did unfortunately not feel well afterwards. Summary: We did a pop quiz on the story "The Life You May Save May Be Your Own." Reflection: I was not able to contribute much since I had not finished the story and did not know the content other than for the beginning.

Prompt: Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

 Prompt Response: It was late at night and I was about to head to bed, when I remembered that I had a quiz the next day in ap statistics. I was deciding if whether I should study or sleep because I felt sort of confident in the material. I decided to study before going to bed and I'm glad I did because the quiz was tough. However, the study session helped a bunch with the quiz. I was able to get an A on the quiz because of decision to study for the quiz instead of not and just going in blind. Summary: I was not here on the block day but the class finished reading the story "The Life You Save May Be Your Own." Reflection: I was not here this day and do not know how the story ended.
