Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

 Prompt Response: A time I felt connected to nature was when I went to the beach. I was on the coastline of the beach, the sand felt warm to the touch and the ocean waves crashing onto my legs. The ocean water was cool and balanced out the warmth of the sand. The water also had a vibrant blue color to it, like the blue of a watercolor painting. I could smell the fresh saltwater breeze, a briny smell that came from the ocean. At that time, everything seemed so beautiful.

Summary: In class we learned about the characteristics of Native Americans and also learned about the characteristics of myths, urban legends, and religion. 

Reflection: I learned that Native Americans are not as they are portrayed and live among us. They pursue careers like we do and live lives just like us. It made me realize that Native Americans portrayed on media are just stereotypes.
