Prompt: In “I, Too,” the speaker expresses pride in his identity and his rightful place in America. Reflect on your own life: What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?

Prompt Response: I am most proud of my nationality. I'm proud to be born in the United States and to live here. America is not perfect but it is still a great place to live in because of a multitude of factors: Sights, diversity, opportunities, freedoms, etc. I'm proud of the opportunities I have in this country and my freedoms. That is the aspect of my cultural identity that I am most proud of.

Summary: In class we read "I, too" by Langston Hughes and started working on our cultural identity masks.

Reflection: Everyone should be proud of their cultural identity and never feel shameful of who they are.
